To ensure their customers get the best from AWS, Amazon are funding specially trained partners from around the world to carry out — and act upon — Well Architected Reviews. Isotoma is one of those partners, which means our expert architects can help improve your AWS infrastructure for free!
The Well-Architected Framework is a distillation of Amazon’s own internal best-practice, published as a guide to help customers build the most secure, resilient, cost-effective and performant infrastructures for their applications. The Well Architected Review program has certified a handful of partners in this framework, giving them the tools and training to assess workloads against the five pillars of the framework.
The review itself takes a few hours and is usually carried out over the phone. Once we’re done you’ll get a detailed report that outlines any recommended actions. If required (and amazingly 96% of WARs produce critical recommendations!) you will then get up to 4 days of our time to implement those recommendations, all funded by Amazon. And all to ensure that you’re getting the best from your AWS experience.

The Well Architected Framework
Operational excellence: This pillar focuses on running and monitoring your systems to deliver business value, and continually improving your operational processes and procedures. Among the topics included are managing and automating changes, responding to events, and defining standards to successfully manage daily operations and events.
Security: This pillar focuses on protecting information and systems. Topics include confidentiality and integrity of data, identifying and managing who can do what with access control and privilege management, protecting systems, and establishing suitable monitoring to detect security events.
Reliability: This pillar focuses on the ability to prevent, and quickly recover from, failures to meet business and customer demand. Topics covered include setup, cross project requirements, recovery planning, and how best to handle change.
Performance efficiency: This pillar focuses on using resources efficiently. Key topics include selecting the right resource types and sizes based on your workload requirements, monitoring the performance of your applications, and how to make informed decisions to maintain efficiency as needs evolve.
Cost optimisation: Cost optimisation focuses on avoiding un-needed costs. Key topics include understanding and controlling where money is being spent, selecting the most appropriate and right number of resource types, analyzing spend over time, and scaling to meet business needs without overspending.
